Trip Itinerary

Our Sunset Wine Tour brings you to the gorgeous 16th century winery to taste wines in stunning nature. Later you’ll return to the historic center of Frascati to the outdoor wine taverns for a fun & delicious dinner in the piazza!

Meet your driver in front of Frascati Train Station at 4:24PM
Tour the beautiful artisanal Frascati vineyard and 16th century farmhouse and winery accompanied by the winemaker. Learn about how the artisanal winemaking tradition has been kept alive by a devotion to traditional winemaking techniques, incorporated into the production of modern DOCG wines. Explore a deep wine cave which dates back to the times of Ancient Rome. Taste three boutique wines; Frascati Superiore DOCG, Roma Red IGT and Sweet Cannellino DOCG. Each wine is described in detail and is accompanied by freshly baked goods picked up from the bakery in the center of town. Sit and relax while sipping your wine in a beautiful setting with amazing views of Rome in the distance.
Learn about the history of Frascati while tasting local products like slow-roasted pork and Frascati jug wine. Meet local artisans and shop owners who are eager to share their stories. Feel like a local while accompanied by your guide who lives in Frascati and knows everybody in town! Blend in with the locals. Meet the bakers, the butchers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their fields. Their stalls are full of items such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, balsamic vinegar, sun dried tomatoes, olives and many other Italian food specialties.
Prepare yourself for a feast of local specialities like sheep ricotta, baked beans with guanciale, salumi, seasonal vegetables and pasta! Enjoy your dinner at our outdoor wine tavern or ‘Fraschetta’ which is lively and full of locals without ever feeling crowded or touristy. Summer is a wonderful time to visit Frascati thanks to its elevation it’s always around 5-10 degrees cooler than in Rome.
You should finish dinner by about 8:30-9:00 PM, you are free to leave and explore Frascati on your own once you are finished eating. Trains return to Rome every hour at :36 until 10:36 PM (9:36 PM on Saturdays). *Please note that the sun sets at a different time throughout the year. During the middle of the summer the sun will not set until about 9 PM, and therefore the sunset will not be visible at the winery.

We (group of three women) had an amazing experience with this tour! We really felt like we lucked out with our tour guides, Valeria and Paola (and the doggy Orso) were all amazing hosts and so personable, informative and fun! They really made us feel like part of the culture! This town (Frascati) is one of the most beautiful, picturesque towns I’ve ever visited! We feel like we got so much for our money, experiences that money can’t buy! I really can’t recommend this enough!

“Amazing; Great locations, food, and awesome guides. We had an excellent time. Big group, but easily accommodated by Hop & Vine. The food was amazing, the weather was perfect, and it was really fun”aOne of the highlights of our Italy trip! Very well planned itinerary, great communication leading up to it so we knew how to meet up with the group, and one of the best wine tours I’ve been on. The winery tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind. There was a beautiful view and a very interesting cave. The wine and snacks were delicious. Afterwards, the trip into the Frascati town and the restaurant was fantastic. Every single person associated with this tour was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I will recommend this to everyone who visits Rome! Thanks so much.
