Escape the hustle and bustle of Rome and come relax in Roman Wine Country.

Our Backpackers Wine Tasting Tour takes place in beautiful Roman wine country just a 15 minute train ride from the center of Rome. It is available Monday-Saturday from 3:30PM - 5:30PM (Sundays at 12:00PM, you will need to come by car) and includes a tour of the vineyard followed by a wine tasting with three (3) local Frascati wines paired with local snacks. Cost: 45€ per person-ages 16 and above 35€ per person-ages 3-15 No cost for ages 2 and below

Trip Itinerary

ARRIVAL
Arrive at TOR VERGATA train station at 3:32 PM and walk (5 minutes) to the Old Frascati Farmhouse. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your Frascati local guide who will offer a toast with local house wine paired pizza Bianca and mortadella.
EXPLORE THE ROMAN COUNTRYSIDE
Learn about the vineyard and countryside with your local guide who will show you the vines and the local flora and fauna and beautiful views of Rome in the distance.
WINE TASTING
Taste three (3) local Frascati wines paired with bruschetta and olive oil, peccorino cheese with honey and flowers, pizza rossa and salame piccante followed by Frascati white wine cookies and cafe’ espresso.
TOUR END
After the tour and tasting you can buy Frascati wines and other local products either to bring back with you to Rome or to ship back to your home anywhere in the world. The Tor Vergata train station is only a 5 minute walk from the tasting room. You can plan to take the 5:30 PM or 5:50 PM train back to Rome which arrives in the center of Rome (Rome Termini) in 15 minutes.

Directions

Tor Vergata train station is just a 15 minute train ride from Rome and a 5 minute walk from our Old Frascati tasting room. Please note that the tasting room is not located at the winery but in a rustic farmhouse in the middle of wine country just a 5 minute drive from the center of Frascati.

 Train Schedules: 

Monday-Saturday Train #12711 departs Roma Termini at 3:14 PM (17:14) and arrives at the TOR VERGATA train station at 3:32 PM (15:32). 

(Please note that this train is heading to FROSINONE- this is what the platform will say, Tor Vergata is the second stop, please be sure to exit at the correct stop.)

Sundays: Car/Taxi needed

Return Trains:

Trains return to Rome at 5:31 PM, 5:50 PM, 6:26 PM.

Train tickets cost only 1.50€ and can be purchased in advance at https:// www.trenitalia.com/ or directly at the train station
